These lifter buckets can last over 150,000 miles, but eventually, they may no longer fit the valve stem correctly, causing a ticking or knocking noise. If the lifter is not seated properly, it can lead to improper valve operation. Replacing the lifters is straightforward but requires special tools and an experienced engine builder.
