🔧 Available Viscosities

Select the viscosity that matches your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation:

  • 0W-20 — Modern fuel-efficient engines (Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Hyundai, many 2015+ vehicles)
  • 5W-20 — Ford, GM, Chrysler, many domestic vehicles
  • 5W-30 — Most popular grade, broad compatibility
  • 5W-40 — European vehicles, turbo engines, higher-performance applications
  • 10W-30 — Older engines, warm climates, classic vehicles
  • 10W-40 — High-mileage engines, heavy-duty applications

✅ Complete Manual Transmission Vehicle Protection

Engine (ferrous metal): Cerma STM-3 Engine Treatment permanently bonds Nano Silicon Carbide to cylinders, pistons, rings, bearings, and cams — creating a permanent ceramic matrix with Mohs 9.5 hardness.

Manual Transmission: The Manual Transmission Treatment bonds SiC ceramic to gear teeth, synchro rings, bearings, and shafts inside your gearbox — restoring smooth shifting, reducing gear noise, and extending fluid life.

Turbo/Supercharger (non-ferrous metal): The optional Turbo Nano Treatment protects aluminum turbo housings, bronze bushings, and specialized alloys that the Engine Treatment doesn’t reach — preventing hot shutdown damage and reducing spool-up friction.

Ongoing oil protection: Cermax Ceramic Synthetic Motor Oil delivers fresh SiC particles with every oil change, reinforcing ceramic protection on all engine surfaces. Supports up to 30,000-mile oil change intervals.

💡 Built for manual transmission drivers: This package is specifically designed for vehicles with manual gearboxes — Subaru WRX, Honda Civic Si/Type R, Mazda MX-5, Jeep Wrangler, Ford Mustang GT, BMW M-series, Porsche, and any vehicle where you shift your own gears. The Manual Transmission Treatment addresses rough shifting, gear noise, and synchro wear that manual drivers care about most.

📋 The Cerma Protocol — Step by Step

Standard Engines (Naturally Aspirated)

Step Action
1 Add 2oz Engine Treatment to your existing oil (not Cermax Oil). Add when engine is warm, at idle.
2 Drive for 15–20 minutes immediately after adding. Continue normal driving for at least 1,500 miles.
3 Add 2oz Manual Transmission Treatment to your gearbox through the fill plug.
4 After 1,500+ miles: drain old engine oil and refill with 5 quarts of Cermax Ceramic Synthetic Oil.

Turbo / Supercharged / Forced Induction Engines

Step Action
1 Add 2oz Engine Treatment to your existing oil. Add when engine is warm, at idle.
2 Drive 15–20 minutes immediately. Continue driving normally.
3 Add 1oz Turbo Nano Treatment to hot engine oil. Drive at least 500 miles.
4 Add 2oz Manual Transmission Treatment to your gearbox through the fill plug.
5 After 1,500+ miles total: drain old engine oil and refill with 5 quarts of Cermax Ceramic Synthetic Oil.

⚠️ Important — Follow the Protocol: Do NOT add Engine Treatment and Cermax Oil at the same time. The treatment must work with your existing oil for at least 1,500 miles to properly bond SiC ceramic to engine metal. Allow approximately 90 days of normal driving for the full Cerma process to complete.

🚗 Ideal For

  • Sport compacts — Subaru WRX/STI, Honda Civic Si/Type R, VW GTI/Golf R, Hyundai Veloster N
  • Sports cars — Mazda MX-5 Miata, Toyota GR86/Supra, Nissan Z, Porsche 911/Cayman, BMW M-series
  • Muscle cars — Ford Mustang GT, Chevy Camaro, Dodge Challenger (manual trans models)
  • Trucks & SUVs — Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Tacoma, Ford Bronco, any manual truck
  • Performance & racing — Track cars, autocross, drag, road racing with manual transmission
  • Daily drivers — Any manual transmission vehicle wanting complete ceramic protection

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the Automatic Transmission package?

This package includes Manual Transmission Treatment instead of Automatic Transmission Treatment. The manual version is formulated for gearboxes with synchro rings, gear teeth, and shift forks — addressing the rough shifting and gear noise that manual drivers experience. If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, choose the Automatic Transmission Racing Value Package instead.

Why can’t I add the Engine Treatment and Cermax Oil at the same time?

The STM-3 Engine Treatment needs to work with your existing oil to properly bond SiC particles to your engine’s metal surfaces. This bonding process takes approximately 1,500 miles. Adding treatment and Cermax Oil simultaneously causes the SiC in the oil to compete with the treatment, reducing bonding effectiveness. Follow the Cerma Protocol for best results.

Do I need the Turbo-Induction add-on?

Only if your engine is turbocharged, supercharged, or has any forced induction. The Turbo Nano Treatment provides an initial concentrated dose of non-ferrous ceramic protection for turbo bearings and housings during the bonding period. If your engine is naturally aspirated, skip it — you don’t need it.

When do I add the Manual Transmission Treatment?

Add the Manual Transmission Treatment directly to your gearbox through the fill plug at any time — it doesn’t need to follow the same sequence as the Engine Treatment. The transmission treatment works independently since it goes into a separate fluid system (gear oil, not engine oil). No gear oil drain needed — add directly to existing fluid.

Which viscosity should I choose?

Always use the viscosity your vehicle manufacturer recommends. Common: 0W-20 for Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Hyundai. 5W-20 for Ford, GM, Chrysler. 5W-30 for broad compatibility. 5W-40 for European turbo engines. 10W-30/10W-40 for older or high-mileage engines. Check your oil cap or owner’s manual.

Will the transmission treatment help with hard shifting?

Yes. The SiC ceramic coating smooths synchro ring and gear tooth surfaces, which directly improves shift feel. Many drivers report noticeably smoother, easier shifts — especially in cold weather when manual transmissions tend to be stiff. The treatment also reduces gear noise and extends gear oil life.

How long does the full process take?

Engine Treatment begins working immediately — smoother operation within the first drive. Full ceramic bonding develops over 1,500–3,000 miles. The complete Cerma process (maximum optimization) takes approximately 90 days of normal driving. After that, continue using Cermax Ceramic Oil at each oil change for ongoing protection up to 30,000 miles between changes.
